Burglaries and home invasions are on a dramatic rise in our area

As the economy worsens, people are becoming desperate

DO NOT OPEN ANY DOOR FOR ANYONE YOU DO NOT KNOW

Have a phone in your hand, pretend that you are on the phone,

tell them you called 911 and they should wait for a police officer to arrive,

if they leave, you know they are up to no good

January 10th, 2012

Bolingbrook Police have asked all residents to report suspicious activity to them immediately

The Somerfield area has had 2 break ins during the daytime where offenders are kicking the door in during broad daylight

January 14th, 2012

Someone rang a doorbell on Stonebridge Dr asking if the car was for sale in the driveway, and it was never for sale, when asked why he thought it was for sale, he responded by saying he heard a car like this was for sale somewhere in town

People are ringing bells just to see if you are home, if not, you may come home to an unwanted guest, or a ransacked home

I myself am a victim now, I am receiving threats on my family due to my support for the development at 115th and Weber Road. I understand that it is your choice not to want it, and it is my right to welcome it. Please let the Police know anonymously who is threatening my family, it could be you next.

I am offering a reward for information leading to their arrest.

If anyone has seen anyone near my mailbox after the Thursday night meeting, please let me know.

URGENT MESSAGE

Police are searching for a man between the ages of 30-40 years old,

driving a red SUV who attempted to abduct a 6 year old female on Autumn Drive at 2pm today.

He approached the child, and asked if she would get in his car, and help him find his lost dog.

The child was smart, and refused.

Here is the description

MALE WHITE

Lures children to his SUV, claiming to need help finding his lost dog

ANYTHING YOU SEE SHOULD BE CALLED IN TO 911 ASAP

The Police need our help,

please call in any vehicles parked on sidewalks, and overnight parkers that you do not recognize

as "a suspicious vehicle" and ask to have them ticketed.

If they are a criminal, they did not walk here, they had to drive to us.

And they may be casing your house next.

What are you all waiting for, the call is free, and always confidential if you ask them to be.

Never forget why we started this neighborhood watch group. As a reminder, February of 2002, 12:58am on a Tuesday night, our watch captain had a man breaking into his home through his sliding glass door, called 911, and Romeoville Police showed up 20 minutes later. After talking to a neighbor, we found out the same thing happened on the same night on Countryside Drive while the residents were watching TV, and Romeoville Police showed up. After organizing this group, we found that there may have been a trunking problem with Ameritech, and the Police made sure that everything went to the right agency.

A sign like above can be purchased for $22, and placed anywhere you want it. I bought mine at 720 Stonebridge Drive. Ask your neighbor if they want to go in on one, and put it in the parkway between your homes. E-Mail me, and I will come out and see where you want it, and I will relay the information to the village. Please make you check out to the "Village of Bolingbrook". Not the watch group. If the criminals see the sign, it may make them reconsider their plan of attack.

We need a new meeting date, these will be every 3 months. For the summer months, would you like to see a block party cook-out where everyone brings a dish and beverages? Let me know what your ideas are to make it more attractive to entice you, and the other families to come to it, and what date is easiest for most, I was thinking a Sunday evening?
